Melinda Hetzel & Co. collaborate to create extraordinary site-responsive and participatory artworks, which invite audiences to experience and participate in art in new ways.

Building on a decade of work with visual theatre company Peepshow Inc, Melinda Hetzel and her collaborators are known for creating deeply evocative, visually stunning, immersive performance experiences.  This multi-talented, artist-led collective can be found working at the edges of their respective artistic forms.  Collaboration and meaningful audience-connection are at the heart of their work. These artists raise questions about the complex and evolving relationships between the natural and human-built worlds.

Specialising in activations within public space, Melinda Hetzel & Co. pursue a fascination with how new technologies, in combination with live arts, can overcome, rather than reinforce, social isolation and disconnectedness. Recent works - Urban Cocoon, Fly By Night and Madame Tulalah's Magnificent Box - layer the intimate with the spectacle; engaging a discrete number of active participants, whilst simultaneously implicating a wider public audience.

We would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Wurundjeri people
of the Kulin Nation. We would like to pay respect to Elders both past and present and all Aboriginal peoples whichever nation they come from.
