Phoenix by Niow 

​Melinda Hetzel and Niow are long term collaborators, including on  Lake and Conservatory and Phoenix.

Rising from the ashes, Phoenix reflects our shared loss, our resilience, and our hope for the future. This site-specific, aerial work creates an unexpected moment of the sublime within the urban landscape, evoking a transformative feeling of connectedness, wonder and joy.

Phoenix was created especially for the reopening of La Mama Theatre (Carlton, Melbourne) in 2021 by Niow and Melinda Hetzel, with original music by Steph O'Hara.
