Niow

Niow (Nick Barlow) has worked extensively as a physical performer, puppeteer, animator, costume and puppet designer with companies including Polyglot Theatre (Paper Planet, Tangle, Ants, Cat City, How High the Sky), Snuff Puppets (Swamp, Forest in the Night, Scarey, Circus Olé, Nyet Nyet’s Picnic), Circus Oz (Model Citizens, Precarious, Aurora) and Peepshow Inc (Mysteries of the Convent, Slanting into the Void, A Bird a Tree the Moon). 
​Nick was head puppeteer of Joey for the Australian tour of the National Theatre of Great Britain’s ‘War Horse’. Nick has also toured extensively with the Cirque Du Soleil (Toruk, Rebel).
Nick collaborates with Sarah Austin and Co, creating theatre for babies, including ‘Only A Year’ (Melbourne Fringe Best Kids Event 2017 / Green Room Award Nomination) and ‘An Uncertain Tim’ (FUSE Darebin 2022).
Performing as Niow, Nick has created: Lake (Melbourne Fringe 2018), Conservatory (Melbourne Fringe 2020 - Best Experimental Work Nomination), Fly (Seaworks 2021), Phoenix (La Mama re-opening 2021) and The Super Amazing Dolphin Show (Glenroy Festival 2022). Niow has collaborated with Melinda Hetzel & Co. on Between the Trees, Conservatory, Lake and Phoenix.
